 Laws of the Land {rules}
« Thread Started on Aug 7, 2008, 1:25pm »

[Forum Rules]-
[1.] Respect every member of the site, even staff. If you have a problem talk to an admin.

[Graphics]-
[1.] Plagiarism and the use of copy-righted images will NOT be tolerated here. If we find out that you stole from our site you will be banned from here as long as the staff sees fit and we will notify the proboards admin team (or what ever host you are using) and have your site deleted. If you use a copy-righted image then we will delete it from the site and send you a message asking you to use a different picture.
[2.] No obscene things will be permitted.
[3.] If they stretch the board you will be asked to resize them or take them off.
[4.] Avatars are to be no bigger than 100 x 100 pixels
[5.] Animation are only allowed in avatars, not signatures.

[RolePlaying/Posting]-
[1.] Rating: PG 13(Click HERE!)
No explicit sexual scenes, suicide, violence, swearing, etc...discussed in more depth in further rules.
[2.] No Godmoding, power playing, or super power playing. This means don’t control someone else’s character, injure them without giving them a chance to fight back, or killing the other character without giving the other person a chance to say whether they die or not.
[3.] Minimal cursing is allowed but this does not entail the F word, female dog, and b@st@rd!
[4.] No overly descriptive conception/birth/death scenes! No one wants to be reading along and all the sudden find some detailed description about how the canine’s blood was just spilled out, etc.
[5.] Post should always be made in 3rd person and past tense.
Bad: I walked to the window.
Bad: Bryce is walking to the window.
Good: Bryce walked to the window.
[6.] No double posting.
[7.] No posts less than 150 words in length. (Remember, a sentence contains a subject, verb, begins with a capital letter, and ends with some form of punctuation).
[8.] Post in an abc-abc fashion; there are no exceptions to this rule! If a member wants to skip their turn, they can simply say ‘Pass’ or say in a post that the character just sat by and watched so the thread can go on. If you don’t follow the order your post will be subject to deletion.

[Characters]-
[1.] Be realistic! Every character has flaws, so include them in your Rping!
[2.] Since we are being realistic, no canines can shoot lasers from their eyes and aren’t fully purple!

[Territories]-
[1.] Any canine may claim a territory (even females). Since all canines live together, any species may join another species’ pack unless the Alpha has set the rule about what species can’t join.
[2.] When an Alpha claims the territory, an admin must approve the claim before the pack is established. The Alpha may set down rules for joining if they wish.
[3.] When setting the rules of the pack make a new thread in the “Packs” board and type out the rules.
[4.] Title the thread (pack name) Rules & Ranks.
[5.] On the Ranks section, be sure to list the character’s name beside of their rank.
[6.] Remember, the Alpha’s word is law. The Alpha may be challenged at any time. Each member may only have an Alpha of one territory.

[Fighting]-
[1.] Killing another character is strictly prohibited unless you are in agreement with the owner of the character you will be eliminating. Alert an admin if your character is killed/going to be killed.
[2.] No overly violent scenes! Minimal physical violence is allowed and should never by gory. This is limited to bites, scratches, and kick/slaps.
[3.] In fights, it is between the Rpers to decide who is the winner.

[Breeding/Birthing]-
[1.] Though minor affection is perfectly fine, be certain that any threads that would be considered sexually explicit are not allowed! This is a PG 13 site, and therefore, no canine sex or overly graphic birthing scenes. No, we understand not everything is clean and such...but, let our imaginations do some picturing...maybe?
[2.] In births, the mother and father will decide the information about the litter.

**Breaking any one of these rules can lead to any number of consequences. It is up to the admin what the consequence is, not you.**

[F.A.Q.s]

[1. What happens if I cannot post 150 words in a post?]

Try. I can not stress enough how important this is, not only for story development within a thread, but also for the development of characters and this site as a whole. Here at Broken Dome we work on what is called a Three Strike System when it comes to our rules and enforcing them. This is an advanced site and when joining should be taken seriously. We want this site to flourish, along with our members. We are here for you, as much as you are here to see this site grow and continue.

[2. Three Strike System? What's that?]

The Three Strike System is as follows:

[Strike One (1):]
Any rule broken will result in a warning PM to you and you will be told not only of what you have done but how to undo what rule you have broken.
For example: If you did not post 150 words or more, no less, you will be asked to modify your post to increase the length to the appropriate size....etc....

[Strike Two (2):]
Any rule broken for a second time will result in an email explaining what rule you have broken and why there is a one week ban on your account. After the week is up, you will be allowed to return and RP as per the norm.

[Strike Three (3):]
If you have the unfortunate dealings of having broken rules on this site three times, you will be banned for an entire month. An email will be sent to you about why you have been banned and will explain when your account will be reopened to you.

There are no fourth strikes. After the last third strike you are given one LAST chance to come back and RP. If you break rules for a fourth time, you will no longer be welcomed at this site as an RPer. Also, depending on the circumstance of the rule and how it is broken, strikes may be skipped, and immediate action may be taken.

Rules are highly important! And the ones on Enclosure Dogs are not hard to follow. Thank you for your cooperation, and all of your questions!

----as more questions are asked, more will be posted----

[LoA:]
[Leave of Absence Rules and Regulations]

Description: LoA or Leave of Absence is a method in which you can request that your account be kept around on the site, when you yourself cannot be. It is a way to bypass activity checks when you realize that Real Life is making it so RPing is difficult or cannot be done for a while. We at Enclosure Dogs respect our members and know that they have Real Lives and are sometimes more busy than what they can handle, therefore too busy to keep up their activity within the regulations of what some sites require. When an account is put on LoA, the character is immune from being deleted or purged until the LoA status is up, or the role player returns.

[How does one aquire LoA status?]

Easy. If you find that you need a long term break, or Real Life is bogging you down with stress to the point where you cannot possibly continue RPing on Enclosure Dogs, and yet would still like to be a member, then all you have to do is to post on the absent board that you're requesting your account be put on LoA, or PM myself through Destiny's account (sn: destiny) or the ED Admin account (sn: admin). From there, you're account will be put on LoA until such time you come back and request that you'd like to return, or your accounts expiration date is up.

Expiration date? What do you mean by that?]

Simply put, after six months of being LoA, a person is most likely not going to return to a site. They have found by then, either something better to do, or are just too busy to role play. In this case of waiting half a year, I will purge the account assuming that you have decided not to rejoin Enclosure Dogs. There will be an email sent to you, two weeks prior the deletion of the account, however, if there is no response then the account will be deleted without thought. After six months, your account and the LoA status has expired.

[How will we know if someone has been put on LoA status?]

A person who has decided to go on a Leave of Absence will be recognizable by the 'LoA' that will be placed within their mini profiles, under their member button... just above their avatar picture. It will say just simply, LoA, bolded and in Indigo. Simple enough to see, and simple enough to remove when the person decides they'd like to come back to Enclosure Dogs.

[Being taken off of LoA status:]

To be taken off of LoA status, just as has previously been mentioned, PM myself through the Admin account, or through Destiny's account, or even post it under the absent board that you are back and would like to return to RPing. You'll be taken off LoA status as soon as I get online and see your request.

Important Notes:
  • When on LoA stutus, you can still post occasionally if you find that you have a minute to spare or something of the sort. However, if you become very active, please don't be irate if I PM you to see how you are doing and ask if you would like to be taken off the status. I'm just wondering, and excited to see that you're back and posting. If you don't want to be taken off quite yet, you are still under the six months period and in the last two weeks, I'll email you asking what you'd like to do then...
  • LoA Status is usually granted when a person finds that they are going to be away for more than two or three weeks. I do not need to know why you are requesting the LoA status, for that is your own business and I respect your privacy, I just ask that you do ask for the status before leaving ED fully, that way we can ensure that your account with us remains untouched.
  • These can change at anytime, so please look back her once and a while to see that LoA is still the same. I don't imagine it will change much, but I reserve the right to change them if I feel something is conflicting or not working well enough for the progress of ED. Thank you for your cooperation.
